What is an Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are a work based programme that allows you to gain nationally recognised qualification through a mix of training models in a college environment and the workplace.
There are a number of elements that make up an apprenticeship and this is called the framework. This means learners will gain a range of qualifications and they progress through their training.
- A Competence based qualification
- A knowledge based qualification
- Functional Skills
- Employment rights and responsibilities
- Personal learning and thinking skills
All Apprentices must be in employed and be working a minimum of 30 hours a week before the training programme can commence. Apprentices will be paid in line with government legislation in line with the age of the apprenticeship.
You will require at least four GCSEs at grade D or above including English and Maths. Applicants must also be hardworking, reliable and motivated. As part of the interview process, Apprentices will undertake an assessment to determine which level you will be entered on. Applicants who do not meet the exact entry requirements may also be considered.
